Recent Achievements June & July 2023

Please find below a roundup of what we have been doing for our members during the last couple of months.  We have collated our efforts under our focus areas of assistance, education and advocacy below.

Assistance Activities
  • Assisted 36 homeowners and 6 HOC’s including:
    • proof-reading of documents and applications
    • park rules
    • special terms
    • water costs
    • pets 
    • electricity costs
    • site maintenance
    • NBN installation
    • CPI, and
    • support and assistance with Tribunal matters were provided to 3 members and one residents group.

 

Education Activities
  • We visited nine (9) Manufactured Home Parks for discussions relating to;
    • Home Owners Rights and Obligations under the Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act. (MH(RP) Act.
    • Setting up and obligations of a Home Owners Committee
    • Current proposals for changes to the MH(RP) Act.

 

Advocacy Activities
  • Prepared and presented our written response to the C-RIS (Consultation – Regulatory Impact Statement)
  • Had follow-up discussions with:
    • Minister for Housing and senior officials,
    • Shadow Minister for Housing
    • Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister for Housing
    • MP for Waterford
    • MP for Bancroft (Deception Bay)

Sharing information and keeping homeowners in residential manufactured home parks well informed is an important part why the QMHOA exists.

We ask all members receiving information from us to consider printing a copy and sharing it in some way with your neighbours and friends who are not yet members.
