QMHOA Releases 2026 Home Owner Satisfaction Survey Report

What 1,300 home owners told us about residential park living

The Queensland Manufactured Home Owners Association Inc. (QMHOA) has released the public report from its 2026 Home Owner Satisfaction Survey.

The survey was conducted during April and May 2026 to better understand what home owners value about living in manufactured home residential parks, and where they believe improvement is needed.

A total of 1,300 home owners completed the survey, providing a substantial body of feedback about their experiences, recurring concerns and priorities.

What the survey examined

Respondents were asked about their satisfaction with five broad areas of residential park life:

• living in the community
• park owner interaction and management
• park managers, onsite managers and staff
• maintenance and services
• consultation and transparency

They were also asked how likely they would be to recommend living in their community to a friend or family member.

Key findings

The results show that many home owners value the community lifestyle and social environment of residential park living.

Among the strongest results:

• 86.2% of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the friendliness of residents
• 77.4% were satisfied or very satisfied with living in their community overall
• 76.9% were satisfied or very satisfied with communal activities

The survey also identified areas where respondents reported lower levels of satisfaction. These included consultation with home owners, transparency about budgets and the use of site fees, communication from park owners, and the timeliness of repairs.

The overall likelihood-to-recommend result was an NPS-style score of -10.3. This means more respondents gave a low recommendation score than a strong recommendation score.

Understanding the results

The survey was voluntary and was not a statistically random sample of all manufactured home owners in Queensland.

The findings should therefore be understood as a large body of respondent feedback rather than a definitive measure of every residential park or park operator.

They are valuable in helping to identify broad patterns, recurring concerns and priorities for further attention.

What happens next

QMHOA will use the survey findings as part of an evidence-led advocacy and engagement program.

This will include informing home owners, briefing government and other stakeholders, engaging constructively with park owners and industry participants, and developing practical reform priorities.

The aim is to strengthen the home owner voice and support fairer, more transparent and more sustainable practices across Queensland’s manufactured home residential park sector.
