Members!
Speak to your local MP about your concerns
Template letter included for you to modify and use.
11 November 2023The QMHOA Bulletin that was sent to members on October 20th 2023 contained details of letters that had been sent to all members of the Queensland parliament. It asks that they carefully consider the position that has been put forward by QMHOA in relation to the reforms proposed in the Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement (C-RIS) published earlier this year. We anticipate that there will be an announcement in the near future by the Minister and Department about what reforms are proposed. Our Bulletin asked all members including HOC’s to take every opportunity available to them to speak with their local members, and request their support for home owners concerns as outlined. We particularly urge our Association/HOC members to actively advocate with their local MPs at this time. As a result of this Bulletin, we have received requests for a sample letter that home owners could adapt to their own words and forward to their local member seeking support for a more balanced playing field with park owners and if appropriate including reference to their personal situation and concerns. The sample letter can be downloaded from this link for your reference. Our Association’s advocacy campaign for changes to the Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act has been a long one. It is important that we do all we can at this important stage to ensure that the MPs who will make the final decisions in parliament are fully aware of the strength of feeling amongst home owners about what those changes should be. The more voices that are heard by them, the more powerful will be the message!
